Severe Storms Knock Out Power, Close Roads in Yorktown
YORKTOWN, N.Y. — More than 3,000 Yorktown residents were left without power Thursday morning in the wake of severe rainstorms that tore through the area. The two cells of thunderstorms that came through town took down trees, powerlines, and resulted in multiple road closures. Classrooms at Yorktown High School were flooded, according to Supervisor Ed Lachterman, and a home was struck by lightning, resulting in a fire. Teterboro Airport Will See Military Aircraft Activity for 2024 Fleet Week
TETERBORO, NJ - Residents around Teterboro Airport will see increased military air traffic activity in conjunction with Fleet Week in New York City. Teterboro Airport will be hosting three U.S. Navy SH-60 Seahawk helicopters that will be taking part in the annual U.S. Navy Fleet Week events in the New York City metro area, according to an airport official. The aircraft arrived at Teterboro on Monday, May 20 and will be departing the airport one to two times daily from Monday, May 20 through Monday, May 27th (Memorial Day.)
