South Alabama basketball adds Chattanooga transfer Randy Brady
South Alabama basketball has added former Chattanooga guard/forward Randy Brady from the transfer portal, the school announced Friday. The 6-foot-5 Brady started 11 of 33 games for for the Mocs this past season, averaging 3.5 points and 4.8 rebounds in 21 minutes per game. The Chattanooga native — a three-star recruit in the 2021 class who redshirted as a true freshman — has two seasons of eligibility remaining.
South Alabama baseball rallies for 6-2 victory over ULM
South Alabama had just one good offensive inning on Friday night, but it was enough for a 6-2 victory over Louisiana-Monroe. The Jaguars sent 11 men to the plate and scored six runs in the bottom of the eighth, rising from the dead after Warhawks pitchers had shut them down for seven. South Alabama (28-21, 12-13 Sun Belt Conference) connected for five straight RBI singles to erase a 2-0 deficit and snap a three-game losing streak.
South Alabama baseball falls 7-4 to Louisiana-Monroe in Game 2
There was no comeback for South Alabama baseball on Saturday; a disastrous fourth inning made sure of that. The Jaguars allowed six runs in the inning — including a three-run triple on a misplayed ball in the outfield — on the way to a 7-4 loss to Louisiana-Monroe at Stanky Field. South Alabama — which rallied for a 6-2 win on Friday night — falls to 28-22 overall, 12-14 in the Sun Belt Conference, with the series finale set for 1 p.m. Sunday.

South Alabama adds transfer tight end Rodrecas Gibbs for 2024
South Alabama on Tuesday added a transfer portal commitment for 2024 from tight end Rodrecas Gibbs. Gibbs spent the spring of 2024 at Texas Southern after transferring from Hutchinson (Kan.) Community College, where he was an honorable mention All-Jayhawk Conference selection as a freshman last fall. The Atlanta native has three seasons of eligibility remaining.
Ethan Hubbard, former Duke lineman from Hoover, transferring to South Alabama
South Alabama on Thursday picked up a transfer portal commitment from a former in-state standout offensive lineman. Ethan Hubbard, a Hoover High School graduate, announced that he will join the Jaguars after redshirting as a true freshman last season at Duke. A 3-star recruit in the 2023 signing class, Hubbard has four seasons of eligibility remaining.

Sun Belt softball update: Conference tournament time is here
South Alabama is the No. 3 seed for the Sun Belt Conference softball tournament, which begins Wednesday on the campus of Texas State. The Jaguars finished the regular season at 31-17-1 overall and 16-8 in Sun Belt play, two games back of second-place Texas State and four games back of first-place Louisiana. South Alabama won two of three from Southern Miss this past week at Jaguar Field, winning 5-4 on Thursday and 6-0 on Saturday, but dropping Friday’s middle game by a 5-4 score.
