During this period, construction will occur on weeknights between 8 p.m. and 7 a.m. Upcoming projects will involve alternating lane closures on the northbound lanes of Interstate 81 at the Route 600 bridge and the Route 625 bridge. Additionally, I-81 southbound bridge at Route 600 will adopt a 'Zipper Merge' configuration to manage traffic flow during the construction. Both Route 600 and Route 625 will be closed under the I-81 bridges during the maintenance operations. Motorists are advised to exercise caution and expect potential delays when traveling in the area. VDOT also notes that further work on the I-81 southbound Route 625 bridge is scheduled for late May or early June.
