Zillah Community Days is underway Friday and Saturday in downtown Zillah.
The event is kicks off today, May 10th, with vendors and a carnival in Stewart Park along with the Miss Zillah crowning set for 6:00 pm this evening. On Saturday, May 11th, the day starts with the annual Zillah 5K for the Fallen to honor fallen soldiers from the Yakima Valley and Yakama Nation.

The City of Union Gap has requested the Washington State Transportation Commission to rename the South Union Gap Bridge after Dan C. Olson. Olson, a former council member, was instrumental in the bridge's construction, which improved transportation in and around Union Gap.
