Local Veterinary Students Awarded Prestigious Diversity Scholarships
Christopher Ibarra Gervacio and Regina Meeks, two third-year veterinary students, have received diversity leadership scholarships from the American Association of Veterinary Medical Colleges. Ibarra Gervacio was awarded the Chewy Veterinary Leaders Program scholarship, worth $20,000, for his leadership potential and efforts to represent underserved communities. This scholarship is given to only 15 students across the country, recognizing emerging leaders in the veterinary field.

Pullman Canned Cocktail Company Wins International Award-Qualifies For “The Oscars Of Spirit Competitions”
PULLMAN - A Pullman canned cocktail company has won an international award at the prestigious San Francisco International Spirits Competition. Paddock Canned Cocktails won Double Gold today at what is considered the most important spirits competition in the world. Double Golds earn gold medals from all 70 judges. The local spirit outscored international brands like Absolut, Bacardi and Smirnoff during blind taste testing. Paddock has been nominated for a Best in Class award which will be announced during what is said to be “The Oscars of Spirit Competitions” in San Francisco in October. This year nearly 5,500 entrants took part in the competition.
