USD Student Develops Mental Health Support Plan for Local College Students
Mallory, a health science student at the University of South Dakota (USD), has developed a series of mental health interventions for college students. Her instructor, Wynnette Mockler, challenged her to address a prevalent health disparity in the community. Mallory's research identified mental health issues, specifically depression and anxiety, as a significant concern at USD.

Libby Brust, a University of South Dakota (USD) student, is the only Truman Scholarship finalist from South Dakota and North Dakota. The Truman Scholarship, a federal memorial to the 33rd U.S. president Harry S. Truman, is given to students with strong leadership skills, a commitment to government or nonprofit work, and high academic achievement. It offers funding for graduate studies and various opportunities within the federal government.
