GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Banana Ball World Tour is coming to the state of Michigan for the first time ever in June of 2025!. The West Michigan Whitecaps announced Thursday night that the Savannah Bananas will take over LMCU Ballpark as their Party Animals team faces off against the Firefighters in a three-night series starting June 12.
Judge’s order that murderer have ‘no contact with outside world’ invalidated
BARRY COUNTY, MI -- A Barry County judge’s ruling that a murderer have no contact with the outside world while serving life in prison has been invalidated. Barry County Circuit Judge Michael Schipper in June 2022, during sentencing for Andrew John-Lawrence Lafey, said the man should “not have any contact with anyone outside the prison until the day he dies.”

September was very warm compared to historical averages. It was also very dry, unless you were in the Muskegon area. It was the seventh warmest September on record at Grand Rapids. That ranking is notable but not a top-three warmest September. Lansing, Muskegon and Kalamazoo also crept into the top-10 warmest Septembers at each location. It was a warm September, but not warm enough to say it felt totally like an August.
