Autauga-Prattville Public Library settles claim with former director
The Autauga-Prattville Public Library Board of Trustees and former director Andrew Foster have reached an out-of-court settlement in Foster's claim against the board. Foster wanted his job back, but the settlement does not reinstate him. Foster’s firing created controversy in the community and stirred national debate about what kind of books can or can't be allowed in the children's section.
Legislature puts Autauga school tax vote on November ballot
PRATTVILLE − A tax to help fund schools in Autauga County will be on the Nov. 5 ballot during the general election. Autauga County voters will decide the fate of a proposed 7 mill property tax increase, with the Autauga County Board of Education is backing the measure. The Legislature passed the bill calling for the election in the form of a proposed constitutional amendment. It will only be on the ballot in Autauga County.
