Pat McAfee’s national championship pick looks genius after Week 1
ESPN “College GameDay” analyst and former West Virginia punter Pat McAfee’s national championship pick is looking good after Week 1. McAfee and former Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban both predicted the Georgia Bulldogs won the national championship. “You got some mean Dawgs showing up this year with a lot to prove give me Georgia,” said McAfee. In Week 1, Georgia looked like the best team in the country. The Bulldogs bulldozed the Clemson Tigers, 34-3. The loss was Clemson’s biggest margin of defeat since 2013. It is safe to say McAfee’s prediction is looking smart right now. Georgia is poised to make the College Football Playoff and is one of the most talented teams in the country. The Bulldogs should cruise in their Week 2 game against Tennessee Tech. Desmond Howard and Kirk Herbstreit predicted Oregon would win the national title. However, Oregon did not look like a championship team in its 24-14 win over Idaho in Week 1. We still have a long way to go, but so far, so good for McAfee’s prediction.
