The oldest school building in New Jersey may soon become a museum to celebrate its Black history. Located in Newark, the 179-year-old State Street Public School is the only remaining location of the city’s former school for Black students, as well as the home of the first Black principal in the city’s school system. The First Presbyterian Church of Moorestown (FPC Moorestown) will hold weekly rehearsals for its 2024-’25 choir season starting in September. There’s a spot for everyone in the graded choral system or handbell choir, regardless of age, skill level or spiritual affiliation. Choir groups include Primary Choir (k-first grade), Junior Choir (grades two to four), Choristers (grades five to eight), Chapel Choir (nine to 12 and college), Adult Choir and Bell Choir.

(CBS) -- Atlantic City began construction this year on a $22 million project to rebuild the Baltic Avenue Canal in order to protect the city from persistent flooding.As part of the project, the city will install six pumps on Atlantis Avenue to push out water from the underground tunnel into the waterways of the back bay during major flood events.Crews will also install screening systems to prevent litter from entering the back bay.The canal, which was built in 1912, is connected to hundreds of storm drains, and it's supposed to remove floodwaters from much of the city.However, city...
