    Ingredients:

    • 12 oz. penne pasta
    • 1/2 cup reserved pasta water
    • 1/4 cup olive oil, divided
    • 12 oz. spicy or mild sausage links
    • 1 large sweet onion, thinly sliced
    • 8 cloves garlic, finely chopped
    • 1 jar (15 oz.) of your favorite creamy Alfredo sauce
    • 8 oz. shredded mozzarella cheese
    • 3/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
    • 1/2 cup milk

    Instructions:

    1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
    2. Boil the penne in salted water until just tender (al dente). Save 1/2 cup of pasta water, drain, and set the pasta aside.
    3. Heat half the olive oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Brown the sausage links until they’re golden and cooked through. Remove them from the pan and slice them into bite-sized pieces.
    4. In the same pan, add the remaining olive oil and sauté the onions until they turn golden and soft. Toss in the garlic and cook for an additional minute.
    5. Stir in the Alfredo sauce, followed by the milk and reserved pasta water. Simmer the sauce on low heat for about 2 minutes.
    6. Mix in the cooked pasta, sliced sausage, and Parmesan cheese, stirring until everything is well-coated.
    7. Layer half of the pasta mixture in a 9x13 baking dish, sprinkle with half of the mozzarella, then repeat with the remaining pasta and cheese.
    8. Cover with foil and bake for 15 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 5-7 minutes, allowing the cheese to turn golden and bubbly.

    Substitutions:

    • Pasta: Swap penne with any other pasta like rigatoni or rotini for a fun twist.
    • Sausage: Use turkey sausage or plant-based sausage for a lighter or vegetarian option.
    • Cheese: Try gouda or provolone for a different flavor profile.

    Storage:

Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. For reheating, bake at 350°F until warmed through or microwave in short intervals to avoid drying out.
