    Ingredients

    • 2 (8 oz) cans refrigerated crescent dough
    • 12 oz cream cheese, softened
    • 1 large egg
    • 1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
    • 1 cup white sugar
    • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
    • 1/4 cup chopped pecans
    • 1 tablespoon melted butter

    Instructions

    1. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Unroll one can of crescent dough and press it flat into a 9x13-inch baking dish, sealing the seams with your fingers. Bake the base for 5-10 minutes, just until it starts to turn golden.
    2. While the base bakes, use an electric mixer to beat together the softened cream cheese, egg, vanilla, and white sugar until light and creamy.
    3. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the pre-baked crust. Unroll the second can of crescent dough and carefully place it on top of the filling in one sheet.
    4. In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar, chopped pecans, and melted butter. Evenly sprinkle this mixture over the top layer of dough.
    5. Return the dish to the oven and bake for 35-40 minutes, covering with foil after 20 minutes if it starts to brown too quickly.
    6. Let the bars cool for at least 1 hour before cutting into squares and serving.

    Substitutions

    • Dough: If you prefer a homemade crust, use puff pastry or phyllo dough instead of crescent rolls for a flakier texture.
    • Pecans: Walnuts or almonds can be swapped for pecans if you prefer a different nutty flavor.
    • Brown sugar: Swap in maple syrup or honey for a more natural sweetness.

    Storage

Store these cheesecake squares in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. They also freeze well for up to 2 months—just be sure to wrap them tightly in plastic wrap or foil before freezing. To serve from frozen, allow them to thaw in the fridge overnight.

Enjoy these creamy squares for your next gathering or just as a special treat!
