    Ingredients:

    Cake:

    • 1 box (16 oz) white cake mix
    • 3 large eggs
    • ½ cup vegetable oil
    • 1 cup milk

    Topping:

    • 1 jar (12 oz) caramel sauce, divided
    • 12 oz cream cheese, softened
    • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
    • 1½ teaspoons vanilla extract
    • 4 cups powdered sugar

    Directions:

    1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
    2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, eggs, oil, and milk. Stir until just blended. Pour the batter into the prepared dish.
    3. Bake for 22-25 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted in the center.
    4. While the cake is still hot, poke holes all over using a fork. Pour half of the caramel sauce over the cake, making sure it sinks into the holes. Let the cake cool completely as the caramel works its magic.
    5. For the frosting, beat the softened cream cheese and butter in a separate bowl until smooth. Add vanilla and gradually mix in the powdered sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
    6. Once the cake has cooled, frost it with the cream cheese mixture. Drizzle the remaining caramel sauce on top and gently swirl with a knife to create a beautiful marbled effect.
    7. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

    Substitutions:

    • Swap vegetable oil for melted coconut oil for a subtle tropical twist.
    • Use dulce de leche in place of caramel sauce for a richer, milkier flavor.
    • Prefer a lighter option? Use light cream cheese in the frosting for a slightly less indulgent treat.

    Storage:

Store this cake covered in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. The flavors actually get better with time as the caramel continues to seep into the cake.
