    Ingredients:

    • 1 loaf of Italian bread
    • 1 (6 oz) jar of green olives with pimientos, drained
    • 1 (6 oz) can of black olives, drained
    • 1/4 cup of scallions, thinly sliced
    • 1 stick of unsalted butter, softened
    • 1/2 cup of sour cream (substitute for mayonnaise for a tangier twist)
    • 2 1/2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese

    Instructions:

    1. Preheat your oven to 325°F.
    2. Cut the Italian bread lengthwise and set it aside.
    3. Roughly chop both the green and black olives.
    4. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter and sour cream until smooth. Fold in the chopped olives, scallions, and shredded mozzarella cheese.
    5. Evenly spread the mixture across both halves of the bread.
    6. Place the bread on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
    7. Slice and serve immediately while it’s warm and melty!

    Substitutions:

    • Swap Monterey Jack for mozzarella or even a sharp cheddar for a bolder flavor.
    • If you prefer a bit of heat, add diced jalapeños or a pinch of red pepper flakes to the mix.
    • Use sourdough or ciabatta bread for a heartier bite.

    Storage:

If you have leftovers, wrap them tightly in foil or an airtight container and store them in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. To reheat, pop the slices in the oven at 300°F for about 10 minutes until the cheese is gooey again. Avoid microwaving to keep the bread from getting soggy!

Enjoy this delightful savory snack any time you need a cheesy pick-me-up!
