    Ingredients:

    • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
    • 4 teaspoons baking powder
    • 1 1/2 tablespoons granulated sugar
    • 2 teaspoons salt
    • 8 oz sharp cheddar cheese, diced
    • 2 cups ham, chopped
    • 1/4 cup fresh chives, minced
    • 2 cups buttermilk
    • 1/2 cup (1 stick) melted butter

    Directions:

    1. Preheat your oven to 450°F.
    2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
    3. Fold in the ham, cheese, and chives. Stir in the buttermilk until you achieve a sticky dough.
    4. Pour the melted butter into an 8x8-inch baking dish and spread the dough over the butter, pressing it gently to the edges of the dish.
    5. Slice the dough into 9 squares before placing it in the oven. Bake for 20-30 minutes, or until the top is golden and a toothpick comes out clean. Allow the biscuits to rest for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy the rich, buttery goodness!

    Substitutions:

    • Swap out the ham for cooked bacon or sausage crumbles if you prefer a different protein.
    • Use green onions instead of chives for a slightly different flavor twist.
    • No buttermilk on hand? Mix 2 cups of milk with 2 tablespoons of lemon juice or vinegar for a quick substitute.

    Storage:

Store leftover biscuits in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven to restore their crispy edges. You can also freeze them for up to 2 months; just thaw and warm before serving.
