This year’s Leadership Aberdeen class has been raising funds for the past several months to purchase a snow maker machine and snow groomer to make Baird Hill a safer, more usable sledding hill for families to use throughout the winter months. Ambulance site getting prepped while supporters have their backs
Work is progressing on the site of the future Hill City Ambulance building. People driving by the site this week may have noticed some large machinery, including a Cat 320 excavator with a drill head on it, a Cat 316 with a modified rock breaker on it and a Cat 279 skid loader.
Upcoming Interagency Moon Walk: Explore the Dark Skies at Jewel Cave
The Black Hills National Forest is teaming up with the National Park Service to host a Moon Walk on Saturday, July 20 at 7:00 p.m. at Jewel Cave National Monument. Jewel Cave National Monument is home to some of the darkest skies in the Black Hills. Although a day-use site with incredible cave tours and engaging interpretive programs, the Monument also provides some evening “scenery” that is not often witnessed by visitors.
