Salish story pole honoring those who championed tribal fishing rights nears completion
Salish multimedia artist Ed Archie Noisecat along with apprentices Ablaza Pluff and Earl Pluff continue their carving of the 13-foot story pole honoring Billy Frank Jr. and fellow indigenous activists Ramona Bennett and Hank Adams in the Pay3q’ali carving studio. The June 25 work session was held on the Indigenous Arts Campus at The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Wa. as the project is part of a six-month residency hosted by the Longhouse Education and Cultural Center.
Car crash on State Route 97 near Entiat leaves 1 dead, 2 injured
ENTIAT, Wash. – ENTIAT, Wash. – A 20-year-old man is dead and two others are injured after a car crash on State Route 97 in Douglas County. According to the Washington State Patrol (WSP), the 20-year-old’s car was traveling southbound on SR 97, while another car, carrying a driver and passenger from Spokane, was traveling north. The southbound car crossed the center line and crashed with the northbound vehicle. The 20-year-old’s car caught fire, and both vehicles partially blocked the northbound lane.

1:05 P.M. 7/14 UPDATE - One of the first people at the scene of the crash, informed Source ONE News that Augustus sustained a broken arm. Troopers say its unknown if Fisher was killed upon impact or died from the effects of the subsequent fire. Source ONE News will reach out to the Douglas County coroner this week for more info about Fisher's cause of death. State Patrol officials have yet to confirm why Fisher crossed the centerline.

Seattle Superior Court denies Attorney General's investigation petition
