Hospital project could close Route 662 for eight months
EASTON — As plans for University of Maryland Shore Regional Health’s new regional medical center move forward, the possibility of a temporary closure of Route 662 in Easton has become a talking point for members of the Talbot County Council. Easton Man Charged in Sexual Abuse of a Minor
An Easton man has been arrested for the sexual abuse of a minor. Easton Police arrested 36 year old Carlos Perez Aldana on charges of sex abuse of a minor, 4th degree sex offense, false imprisonment and 4 counts of 2nd degree assault after a joint investigation by Easton Police and the Talbot County Department of Social Service, Child Protective Services.
Rash of fires hit Eastern Shore farms
A rash of farm equipment and cropland fires struck the Eastern Shore over the last two weeks, authorities said. A fire destroyed more than 100 acres of standing wheat off of Old Wye Mills Road in Wye Mills near the border of Talbot and Queen Anne’s counties at 1:45 p.m. on June 8, according to the Easton Volunteer Fire Department. Several nearby homes were evacuated as a precaution. No one was injured.

EASTON — Talbot County Council enacted a burn ban Friday afternoon as a heat wave makes its way through Maryland and local fire departments are seeing increased activity. Easton Man Charged with Sex Abuse of Minor
EASTON, MD - The Easton Police Department has announced the arrest of a man on several charges including the sex abuse of a minor. Police say a joint investigation with the Talbot County Child Protective Services after receiving word of possible sex abuse of a child. Investigators interviewed a minor child at the Talbot County Children’s Advocacy Center and say they were told Perez Aldana, 36, sexually assaulted the child in May of 2024. The child was able to escape and notified adults, who then called police.

Easton man arrested, charged with sexually abusing minor
EASTON, Md. – An Easton man has been arrested following an investigation into the sexual abuse of a minor. The investigation was a joint effort between the Easton Police Department and the Talbot County Department of Social Service, Child Protective Services. After forensically interviewing a minor child, it was determined that a man, identified as 36-year-old Carlos Perez Aldana, sexually assaulted the child in May of this year. The child was able to get away and notify adults of the incident.
