Roseburg wrestlers reach Greco-Roman podium at Fargo Nationals
FARGO, N. Dak. — Three Roseburg wrestlers finished on the podium at the National Greco-Roman Championships in Fargo, North Dakota on Saturday at the Fargodome. Drew Dawson and Daniel Patrick both earned All-American status in the 16U Cadet Division. Dawson, the 9-seed at 100 pounds, upset 5-seed Coy Mehlert from Iowa with a technical fall to finish in fifth place. Daniel Patrick, the 12-seed at 157 pounds, got a technical fall over 4-seed Max Harris from Kansas to place fifth.

This spectacular anthology illustrates the metaphorical significance of rain in our daily lives and in Oregon’s history. The rain nourishes our poetic imagination. These poems strive, through metaphor, to clarify the human experience of life in the rain. Our feelings move beyond mere love/hate. At times we grudgingly acknowledge rain’s inconvenience and discomfort, but over all else we glory in its power of renewal. The collection as a whole comprises a remarkable unity that testifies to the Oregon experience. Neither unremittingly cheerful nor gloomy, the poems place us in homes, on city streets, in forests, and on the coastline, acknowledging our interaction with rain in the present and in our common imagined past.
