Oregon tech hubs left out of federal funding blitz
Two Oregon tech hubs were left out of a more than half-billion dollar federal funding announcement Tuesday aimed at technology development. The Oregon State University-led projects — Corvallis Microfluidics and the Pacific Northwest Mass Timber Tech Hub — were named among 31 finalists last year out of 400 applicants. They were competing for grants up to $70 million.

Trail Blazers are finally free from long-forgotten contract burden
On July 25, 2017, the Portland Trail Blazers traded Allen Crabbe to the Brooklyn Nets. In exchange, they received Andrew Nicholson. Nicholson didn't play a single game with the Blazers, as he was waived shortly after. Portland decided to use the stretch provision on Nicholson's contract. Instead of owing him the three years, $20 million remaining on his contract, the Blazers wanted to take on less luxury tax ramifications, stretching out the deal for $2.8 million annually over seven years. 4 th of July Parade Traffic Control Plan
KLAMATH FALLS, OR – July 2nd , 2024. The annual Fourth of July Parade will once again take place on Main Street. Participants will stage on Spring Street beginning at 8:00 AM and Main Street traffic control will all be in place before 10:00 AM, when the parade will begin. The parade will begin at Spring Street/Main Street and proceed down Main Street and wrap down Center Street into Veterans Park, where the participants will disband.
