This hilarious footage shows an adorable Lemur pulling a 'yoga pose' while enjoying the autumn sun.

The grey and white primate, which is native to Madagascar , South Eastern Africa, was spotted at Blackpool Zoo in the ‘lotus position' - with its wrists on its knees.

The pose represents enlightenment and growth towards perfection in certain regions - and is also often used for the purposes of meditation.

But Zoo staff explained that lemurs were known to take up the position to warm their bellies and regulate their body temperatures on colder days.

They said: “Summer may be over, but our lemurs are still striking their 'yoga' poses to soak up the autumn sun!

“They use the warmth to heat their bellies and regulate their body temperature, especially on cooler mornings.”
