A bullock had to be rescued by firefighters after getting stuck down a sinkhole .

The young male cow called Cinnamon was found at the bottom of the roughly 6ft (1.8m) pit in a field near Nenthead, Cumbria, on Saturday (Sept. 28) morning.

A rescue unit from Carlisle East Fire Station was sent to the scene of the accident at around 10 am following reports that he was “well and truly stuck”.

And photos taken of Cinnamon in the cavernous hole show how he was left unable to move and covered in dirt.

The team worked alongside heavy machinery operators and the farmer to dig down to the trapped bovine, which is thought to weigh around 70 stone.

Thankfully, the crews then managed to haul Cinnamon out and he didn’t sustain any injuries.

One Facebook user who spotted the successful mission commented: “The size of him, good grief. Glad you got him out though. He’s a cutie.”
