Florida A&M volleyball adds all-time great Dominique Washington to the coaching staff as an assistant coach.

"It's great to bring back a former student-athlete, especially someone with Dominique's accomplishments," said Head Coach Gokhan Yilmaz. "Dominique joins us after spending a season coaching club volleyball and will be a great mentor to our players."

"Florida A&M has always held a special place in my heart, and I am privileged to be back in the Rattler community as an assistant coach," said Washington.

"After my two year tenure as a player at FAMU, I was compelled to come back; I believe I have more to contribute to this incredible program. I'm honored to lend my time and expertise to this dedicated and passionate group of lady Rattlers. We appreciate all of your continued support as we gear up for another successful season. Go Rattlers!"

Washington returns to the Highest of Seven Hills after being away from the program for one season following her final season as a player in 2022. Washington joined the Rattlers in 2021 and has been one of the most successful Rattlers in Florida A&M history.

In the two seasons at FAMU, Washington had earned back-to-back SWAC Player of the Year and AVCA All-American Honorable Mention honors. Washington was also named the SWAC Tournament MVP in both seasons after help leading the Rattlers to back-to-back SWAC Championships . Washington also earned All-SWAC First Team honors in both seasons and was also named the SWAC Newcomer of the Year in 2021.

In the two seasons, the Rattlers won a combined 46 games, including an upset win at Auburn in 2021. Washington led the Rattlers and SWAC in kills in 2021 with 564 and in 2022 with 425. The 564 kills are the second-most all-time in Rattlers' history. Washington is also eighth all-time with 989 total kills despite only playing two seasons for the Rattlers.
