Florida State wide receiver Goldie Lawrence is headed across the road to Florida A&M, the reigning HBCU national champions.

Lawrence, a former four-star prospect, has committed to FAMU, the reigning SWAC and HBCU national champion.

The standout wide receiver for Florida State University brings impressive credentials from his high school career at Seminole High School in Sanford, Florida. Standing at 6 feet tall and weighing 193 pounds, Lawrence showcased his athletic prowess with 92 catches, 1,495 receiving yards, and 21 touchdowns, marking him as one of the top prospects in the nation. His high school performance earned him a four-star recruit rating and significant attention from college programs.

Lawrence made his debut in the 2023 season , appearing in one game before redshirting to preserve his eligibility. His high school success, highlighted by his ability to make big plays and consistently perform under pressure, set high expectations for his future contributions to the Seminoles. His redshirt year allows him to adapt to the collegiate level, focusing on honing his skills and gaining a deeper understanding of FSU’s offensive strategies.

He will join a Florida A&M offense that will look different in 2024. FAMU’s offense will be without Willie Simmons, who called the plays in addition to being head coach. He’s now gone to Duke. Also gone is quarterback Jeremy Moussa, who exhausted his eligibility.
