With SEC Media Days in full swing, conference commissioner Greg Sankey has been at the forefront of many questions.

Given that the SEC is part of conference realignment, adding Texas and Oklahoma from the Big 12, moving from 14 to 16 teams in the 2024 season, there's been a lot to talk about.

Sankey has been open about those matters, among others, of further realignment, saying that the SEC is good where they are at the moment.

Another topic that Sankey was approached about was the next playoff expansion, where the College Football Playoff format will move from four to 12 teams this season.

While on 1010 XL, Sankey and host Matt Hayes discussed SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey's perspective on the College Football Playoff selection process. Sankey stated:

"Georgia was one of the best four teams (in the nation) and didn't get in (the Playoff). But you didn't see us jumping up and down and complaining and hanging national championship banners."

Hayes said, "A not so subtle shot at FSU."

Florida State had just one loss last season, which came in their bowl game against Georgia in the Orange Bowl, by a score of 63-3. The Florida State team that took the field for that game was a far cry from the one who put up a perfect record up until then. Over 20 Seminoles players opted out of that game.

That was likely due to the team feeling that were unrightly snubbed out of playing in the playoff, making the top four teams.

The Seminoles had been ranked between No. 4 and 5 in the CFP rankings since the first week on Oct. 31. Yet, on selection day, sitting at 13-0 and winners of the ACC Conference Championship, they were ranked at No. 5 by the committee.

Georgia, who had also lost just one game, though in the SEC Championship Game versus Alabama, fell to No. 6. The Bulldogs had been ranked no lower than No. 2 in the CFP rankings, back on Oct. 31 and Nov. 7.

Florida State or their fans haven't forgotten last year's snubbing. Some even to this day are still protesting about the committee's decision. At least this season, Florida State will have a better chance with an extended playoff field.
