Florida State made another huge splash on the recruiting trail by landing four-star wide receiver Malik Clark on Thursday.

And while this commitment was a surprise to many, since the four-star prospect had only visited Tallahassee one time during his recruitment, Clark told Warchant that it wasn’t that hard of a decision.

“I would say about a week ago,” Clark said of making his choice. “Really just Coach [Mike] Norvell , and love everything about the program. Loved the players, team, everything. And they want to win”

According to the On3 Industry Ranking, the 6-foot-2.5, 180-pound prospect is the No. 208 recruit in the 2025 class. He is also ranked as the second-best player in South Carolina and the No. 24 wide receiver in the nation.

While Norvell played a big part in landing Clark, so did Florida State wide receivers coach Ron Dugans . The football side of how Dugans goes about his business is something they really stood out to the four-star wideout.

“I really like how he coaches and how hard he is on his guys,” Clark said. “And I really like how he develops players.”

Another factor that showed Clark why he should be a Seminole was the explosive Florida State offense and how versatile the players are in Norvell’s scheme.

“The way how it’s not just left or right [for receivers]. How the players move around so much, and they find ways to get their guys the ball,” Clark said. “I really like how I would fit in with my skill set.”

Clark said he will try to make it back to Tallahassee this weekend for the Seminole Showcase recruiting event, however he is unsure if the travel will work out. If he does not make it to Florida State this weekend, he said he will likely come in the fall for a game.

The Rock Hill, S.C., standout is the third blue-chip receiver to commit to the Seminoles in the last month. He joins top-100 receivers CJ Wiley and Daylan McCutcheon to give Florida State one of the best receiving hauls in the 2025 class.
