Former assistant James Colzie is now in charge at FAMU after a contentious search . Colzie has a quarterback battle to oversee between Junior Muratovic and FAU transfer Daniel Richardson. He'll also look to continue the tradition of the fearsome "Dark Cloud Defense," the No. 3 scoring defense in FCS in 2023. This year's squad is led by preseason All-SWAC defensive back Kendall Bohler.
FAMU plays just five games at Bragg Memorial Stadium in 2024, with its season opener in the MEAC/SWAC Challenge on August 24 in Atlanta. The Rattlers close the regular season November 23 against Bethune-Cookman in Orlando. They face two FBS teams: Troy and the Miami Hurricanes.
