    Former Lightning Players Pick Numbers for New Teams

    The Tampa Bay Lightning made two notable additions before the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline passed, acquiring Anthony Duclair and Matt Dumba. With the team needing another scoring winger and a right-shot defender, the moves made sense.

    However, Duclair and Dumba both found new homes this offseason in free agency. Duclair signed a four-year, $14 million contract with the New York Islanders, while Dumba inked a two-year, $7.5 million deal with the Dallas Stars.

    Both players will be sporting new numbers with their new clubs as well.

    The Islanders revealed today (Aug. 26) that Duclair will sport No. 11. The last Islander to wear No. 11 was Zach Parise, who rocked it during the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons. While with the Bolts, Duclair wore No. 10.

    Dumba, on the other hand, will be switching to No. 3 with the Stars. The last player to wear No. 3 on the Stars was Chris Tanev this past season. This is a notable change for Dumba, as he wore No. 24 for the Minnesota Wild, Arizona Coyotes, and Lightning. Re
