A corporal for the Tampa Police Department was arrested yesterday for allegedly driving under the influence in Pasco County.

While off-duty, Jesse Horn was pulled over in New Port Richey on southbound U.S. Highway 19 near Glissade Drive, according to a release from the police department. He was taken into custody around 6:30 p.m. yesterday. Horn, who was hired in 2007, was relieved of duty pending the outcome of a criminal investigation.

“This incident is deeply disappointing to me, our department, and our community,” Tampa Police Chief Lee Bercaw said. “Our officers are entrusted with upholding the law and protecting our community. Every employee is expected to hold themselves to the highest standards, both on and off duty.”
