Detectives are investigating after an inmate died at the Pinellas County Jail on Wednesday morning.

Around 8:50 a.m., David Egle, 64, was found unresponsive in his cell, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release. Deputies and medical staff performed lifesaving measures on Egle until paramedics arrived, but he was pronounced dead nine minutes later.
