Hillsborough’s newest high school has a name. Who got the honor?

TAMPA — The Hillsborough County school board got a strong sense Tuesday of how much a school’s name matters to the community, as dozens of residents spent nearly three hours advocating their choices for a new high school rising in Wimauma.

The district received hundreds of submissions for the honor, with board members relating that they also got stacks of letters at their homes in addition to being inundated with text messages and emails.

As the conversation unfolded, three possibilities rose to the top: former principal Sylvia Albritton, former judge E.J.
