    5-star DJ Lagway dazzles as Florida Gators rout Samford

    GAINESVILLE — The Florida Gators got an answer to one of their two biggest unknowns in Saturday night’s 45-7 win over Samford.

    Yes, five-star freshman DJ Lagway looks like their quarterback of the future.

    But who will be coaching him when the future finally arrives? That question takes a back seat this week after Billy Napier’s Gators (1-1) pulled away in the second half to beat an opponent from the lower, Football Championship Subdivision.

    Lagway — Gatorade’s national high school player of the year — earned his first career start because incumbent Graham Mertz (concussion) was not dressed out.
