TAMPA — The Bucs breathed a sigh of relief about their injury situation Wednesday when defensive lineman Logan Hall and cornerback Zyon McCollum returned to practice.

McCollum, who remains in concussion protocol, wore a black, non-contact jersey for warmups during the portion of the workout open to the media.

Hall missed Sunday’s 37-20, season-opening win over Washington with a foot injury. The Bucs still are without defensive tackle Calijah Kancey, who suffered a calf injury Friday and did not play against the Commanders.

McCollum’s return would be huge for the Bucs, considering they will be without All-Pro safety Antoine Winfield Jr., out 2-4 weeks with an ankle injury.

Cornerback Josh Hayes, who left Sunday’s game with an ankle injury, did not practice Wednesday. On Tuesday, the Bucs placed cornerback Bryce Hall (dislocated ankle/leg fracture) on injured reserve.

But make no mistake, seeing Hall and McCollum back on the field Wednesday was a very good sign.

Winfield was injured on one of the last offensive plays of Sunday’s game.

In his absence, the Bucs are expected to turn to Christian Izien, a second-year pro from Rutgers, at safety.

Izien stepped in as an emergency cornerback Sunday, compiling two tackles, a pass defensed and a forced fumble.

    This story will be updated.
