TAMPA — It’s tough to define Christian Izien, except to say he has a defiant belief in himself.

Here’s a 5-foot-8, 197-pound guy who played safety at Rutgers, made the Bucs’ 53-man roster as an undrafted rookie free agent last season, started as the nickel cornerback and intercepted a pass in each of his first two games.

When he lost his job in training camp this summer to Georgia rookie Tykee Smith, Izian didn’t blink.

In last Sunday’s 37-20 win over the Commanders, Izien was forced to play 31 snaps at outside cornerback due to an array of injuries.
