2 killed on Park Street in Pinellas after crash involving car, motorcycle

Two people were killed in a crash involving a motorcycle and a car on Park Street in Pinellas County on Tuesday night, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.

Troopers said both the motorcyclist and the driver of the car were killed. A passenger in the car also was seriously injured.

Troopers did not publicly identify the people involved. They said the driver of the car was a 24-year-old St. Petersburg woman. The motorcyclist was a 49-year-old man from Mary Esther, which is in the Florida Panhandle. The injured passenger is a 23-year-old St. Petersburg man, troopers said.

The crash occurred at 10:47 p.m. after the woman had been stopped at a stop sign on westbound 46th Avenue North, troopers said. She pulled in front of the motorcyclist, who was traveling north on Park Street, troopers said in a news release.

Both drivers died on the scene, troopers said.

No other details were immediately released.
