    Future is bright for Lightning prospect Conor Geekie, but is it now?

    BRANDON — As much as Conor Geekie enjoys scoring goals, there’s something especially satisfying to him about frustrating opponents with his defensive play.

    “I think that might be the third child syndrome,” Geekie said with a smile Sunday, “I don’t know.”

    As the youngest of three brothers, Conor had to scrap for everything against his older siblings while growing up in small-town Manitoba, and it was no different on the ice.

    “Going against Morgan and Noah my whole life, it was just trying to not lose, and I think that kind of translated over to the game,” Geekie said.
