How do Rays improve for 2025? A first look at what they need to do

BOSTON — At this time next year, the Rays are hoping they’ll have a lot more to do, such as prepping intensely for their first playoff opponent.

To get there from here — heading into the final weekend in fourth place in the American League East with a 78-80 record and playing their first meaningless-to-them games since September 2018 — will take some work.

Most critically, they need to bolster their offense.
