BRANDON — Working from home is not an option for most hospital workers, no matter how scarce gas is after Hurricane Milton.

So regional hospital chains this weekend, including Tampa General Hospital and AdventHealth, set up makeshift gas stations on hospital campuses providing free gas to ensure their doctors, nurses and other employees have enough fuel to drive to work.

The line of Tampa General workers parked on the shoulder of Falkenburg Road in Brandon on Sunday stretched for at least a quarter of a mile.
