    Man riding electric scooter dies after being hit by bus in St. Petersburg

    A man riding an electric scooter died after he was struck by a Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority bus on Tuesday morning, police say.

    The bus was carrying 10 passengers when it collided with the man at the intersection of 22nd Avenue North and the Pinellas Trail shortly after 11 a.m. Tuesday, the St. Petersburg Police Department said in a news release.

    The man was taken to a local hospital, where he died of his injuries. Police have not released his name, citing next of kin notification.

    No injuries were reported on the bus, including the driver. No further information was immediately released.
