Construction is making headway at 551 Central Avenue , where Hi Hospitality Group ’s five-story food hall Central Park is expected to open by the end of the year, according to recent coverage by St. Pete Rising . The 28,000-square-foot space replaces the former Dome Grill with a food hall, bar, and venue for live events.

The concepts opening in Central Park will all be developed by Hi Hospitality Group, founder Natalia Levey says in the St. Pete Rising coverage, with chef Hart Lowry heading up the development of the various concepts’ menus.

As St. Pete Rising points out, the publication has been sharing news of the project for some time: including the start of construction in 2021, and another update at the end of 2022. Central Park is now officially projected to open later in 2024, with a high end cocktail bar in the basement space, and another bar on the ground floor accompanying the food court, which will feature seven different fast-casual concepts. One of these is Palm Avenue Deli , Hi Hospitality Group’s New York deli concept.

Also expected, on the fourth floor, is another outpost of Hi Hospitality Group’s Sarasota -born Kojo concept, which opened in 2021. A representative of Hi Hospitality Group was not immediately available to discuss the development of the new Kojo location.
