Champion Pizza Plans More Tampa Bay Locations

With ten locations in New York City , plus three in Florida and one more in Texas , Champion Pizza is continuing to grow in the Tampa Bay market. Hakki Akdeniz —the pizza mogul and Champion Pizza owner whose rags-to-riches story has been an inspiration to many both within the restaurant biz and without—told What Now this week that Champion Pizza is currently at work on several new locations in the Tampa Bay area.

This news comes on the heels of the announcement of Akdeniz’s plans for a new food hall in Seminole Heights , which is expected to open before the end of this year with 8-9 different restaurant concepts offering a variety of Asian and Asian fusion cuisine.

One of the new Champion Pizza locations will open near the University of South Florida , in the retail center on the northwest corner of East Fowler Avenue and Bruce B Downs Boulevard . That retail center is already home to a number of popular concepts, including First Watch , Dave’s Hot Chicken , Cold Stone Creamery and more.

“We are committed to using the finest fresh ingredients in our recipes and we would not serve the food that we would not eat ourselves,” says the Champion Pizza website . “Our basic ingredients such as crust, sauce, and some toppings, are made daily at our factories and delivered to each store so we maintain the quality of our food.”
