Ex-Bolt Corey Perry Gets Big News from Oilers

Former Tampa Bay Lightning forward Corey Perry was scratched for the Edmonton Oilers' Game 2 matchup against the Florida Panthers. It was the fifth time Perry was a healthy scratch this postseason, which must have been frustrating for the 19-year veteran.

However, Perry is now getting another chance for redemption.

Perry is expected to return to the Oilers' lineup for Game 3 after his latest scratch. The 39-year-old will now look to help the Oilers avoid going down 3-0 to the Panthers from here.

Seeing the Oilers putting Perry back in their lineup is entirely understandable. The Oilers should benefit by adding more bite to their group for this matchup. In addition, Perry certainly has experience playing games when they matter the most. He, of course, has a Stanley Cup on his resume and has played in five Stanley Cup Finals in his career.

However, Perry has struggled to produce offensively this postseason, recording just one assist and a minus-3 rating in 14 games. Now, he will look to end his ongoing cold streak in a massive Game 3 for the Oilers.
