Nearly a decade after meeting his Speak Easy bandmates at the University of South Florida’s St. Petersburg campus, Brendon Porter is gearing up to say goodbye. And if you’ve ever enjoyed any part of the Bay area’s indie-pop scene, you might want to pay your respects before he moves to Atlanta.

    Porter
the producer , has his hands on projects from some of the best local rappers and bands, and his own outfit, Speak Easy, which makes some of the smoothest, smartest, pop-rock in town.

On Saturday, he releases a solo album, Thank You For This Day, in part, to show his appreciation for everything the Bay area has given him.

“Each song is paired with a gratitude mantra (thank you for my community, for my health etc.), as well as a paired color and animation,” Porter told Creative Loafing Tampa Bay.

Porter invites attendees to wear their favorite color to the show, which features performances from an all-star cast of Bay area musicians including songwriters April Showers, Noan Partly and Kristopher James, plus emcee Scxtt Aye and rap collective Barely Legal.

Tickets to Brendon Porter’s Thank You For This Day farewell and release show on Saturday, June 15 at Hyde House Public Studio in Tampa are still available for $25.
