Florida woman, 71, 'shot roommate multiple times' in frenzied attack 'because he was messy'

In Florida, Patricia Whitehead, 71, has been arrested for the shotgun murder of her roommate , whose messiness reportedly drove her to commit the heinous act.

Early this morning, authorities took Whitehead into custody, charging her with first-degree murder following a police call-out to their shared residence, where they found her roommate deceased. His identity has not been disclosed.

Tampa Police shared in a release that "Whitehead had become angry with the victim, claiming he did not clean up after himself."

The altercation escalated when Whitehead reacted to the sound of a door slamming by seizing her shotgun and discharging it multiple times at the man.

Upon arrival, law enforcement officials encountered the unnamed man unresponsive and severely wounded from the gunshots. He succumbed to his injuries at the local hospital.

This incident unfolded on Thursday in Ybor Heights, leading to Whitehead's booking at Orient Road Jail facing a charge of first-degree murder. Currently held without bond in Falkenburg Road Jail, per jail records.
