The post sparked an uproar as fans believe the late rapper’s account was hacked a week after he was shot dead at the parking lot of a Holiday Inn in Tampa North, Florida , on June 23.

Julio Foolio , real name Charles Jones, was shot dead as he celebrated his 26th birthday.

In the days since his death, Foolio’s Instagram account has shared several posts about the rapper with his 1.4 million followers.

Several fans have claimed the rapper faked his death.

“When I see funeral pictures I’ll believe it,” one fan wrote in the comment section.

“Is bro dead or is he trollin[g] for views,” a second said.

However, several fans suspect the rapper’s account was hacked and is being used for promos.

One concerned fan wrote, “If he is in fact deceased and y’all are using his face and image for promo… y’all WRONG.”

“Just using him for promotion stop,” another said.

Despite the online commotion, Foolio’s attorney, Lewis Fusco, confirmed the rapper’s death.

The rapper ‘s mother, Sandrikas Mays, shared on Instagram at the time, “RIP Son.”

Mays later said that a documentary about her son’s life was in the works.

“The story that only I can tell because I know the Truths from the Fakes, I think [I’m] ‘ONLY’ mother that [keeps] it Real while MOST others know [damn] well what was going on. With their OWN sons,” she added.

A report by Tampa police confirmed Julio Foolin was shot in the skirmish and transported to a nearby hospital, where he died.

“What we have learned, and this is early in the investigation, two cars were shot at,” Tampa cop Jonee Lewis said at the time.

Police are still investigating the shooting. No suspects have been arrested.
