TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A reward has been increased for information on a 7-year-old’s shooting death on the Fourth of July last year along the Courtney Campbell Causeway.

Yitzian Torres Garcia was shot and killed July 4, 2023, along the Courtney Campbell Causeway after an argument between two groups on jet skis escalated.

Police said someone started shooting and a stray bullet hit Garcia in the head. His grandfather was also injured.

The child’s family was not involved in the argument. The child was only in Florida visiting his grandparents from New Jersey.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Tampa Police Department.
