TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – The first showers develop near the coast around lunchtime, and the coverage of rain increases as the storms spread inland. Afternoon storms focus mostly east of I-75, but later in the day, the rain drifts back to the coast around sunset.

When it’s not raining, it will be hot and humid with highs in the low 90s, feeling like 100-108.

Late-day downpours expected through the weekend. It heats up quickly with lots of morning sunshine, and highs reach the low-mid 90s Saturday and Sunday.

A plume of Saharan dust arrives Sunday and early next week. While it doesn’t limit our rain chances much, it will lead to some hazy skies.

Rainy season is in full swing next week with scattered storms developing each day. Most days the rain will be in the afternoon, but some earlier showers could form Tuesday.
