The Tampa Bay Lightning made a massive addition this summer, signing Jake Guentzel to a seven-year, $63 million contract. With this move, Guentzel is expected to be a long-term part of the Lightning's core in the next chapter of their franchise.

Guentzel has been one of the NHL's top forwards for many seasons, and this should continue to be the case with the Lightning. In fact, given the Lightning's immense talent in their top six, there's a real chance that Guentzel could hit new offensive levels with the club.

Guentzel will undoubtedly be placed in a position to succeed with the Lightning. He is expected to form a lethal trio with Brayden Point and Nikita Kucherov on their first line. Guentzel's new expected linemates are each coming off fantastic seasons. Point posted 46 goals and 90 points last season, while Kucherov had 44 goals and a league-leading 144 points in 81 games. He also became the first winger to record 100 assists in a single season.

Needless to say, Guentzel will significantly benefit from playing with two superstars like Point and Kucherov. He also will have stars like Victor Hedman and Brandon Hagel to work with on the power play, which should also help his stats.

Guentzel has career highs of 40 goals, 44 assists, and 84 points. Don't be surprised if he breaks them next season with the Lightning, as he will have several big-time weapons to work with.
