Star Teammate Earns High Praise From Buccaneers' Baker Mayfield

Tampa Bay Buccaneers starting quarterback Baker Mayfield expressed some high praise for star wide receiver and teammate Mike Evans .

Mayfield said that Evans will be a top-five receiver all-time if he continues doing his thing for a couple more seasons. The former Texas A&M product has been one of the most consistent receivers in the league since entering in 2014.

"If he has an average year stat wise, he'll still be top ten in touchdowns and yards." Mayfield said.

Evans is closing in on 100 career touchdowns, 12,000 yards, and 160 games played in his career and hasn't shown any signs of slowing down anytime soon. He is currently a five-time pro bowler and added a Super Bowl ring to his resume in 2021.

Last season in a trip to the postseason after winning the NFC South, Evans racked up 79 receptions, 1,255 yards, 13 touchdowns (tied for 1st in the NFL), and averaged 15.9 yards per reception. He caught 11 of 19 balls in the postseason for 195 yards.

It is always a great sign when your quarterback and lead receiver are on the same page, and that is one thing you can say is true about the Baker Mayfield and Mike Evans combination. It is one that clicks.
