    Deputies identify man killed in Carroll County road rage shooting, man charged

    CARROLL COUNTY, Md. ( DC News Now ) — The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office ( CCSO ) said a man is facing several charges after someone was shot and killed during a road rage incident on the Fourth of July .

    As we previously reported, deputies were called to the intersection of Bear Run Road Runnymede Road, near Taneytown, after a shooting on Thursday.

    Upon arrival, authorities found 36-year-old Christopher Patrick Moore II, who had been shot, dead.

    During the investigation, deputies learned that a road rage incident started on Route 140 between 20-year-old Davon Joseph Dabbs, of Taneytown, another man, and Moore.

    As the incident escalated, the group got into a fight near Bear Run Road.

    The Sheriff’s Office said, Moore’s fiancé arrived at the scene with her legally owned gun and announced she had a weapon. That’s when deputies said Dabbs ran toward her and hit her. During this time, he was shot in the leg.

    As the fight continued, Dabbs reportedly took the gun and hit her several times in the face. Deputies said he then fired multiple shots, hitting another man in the hand. Moore was hit in the chest twice.

    Two teens arrested in connection to carjacking, stealing car in Fairfax County

    Deputies said Moore’s fiancé was taken to the hospital with a broken jaw and injuries to her head and face. Dabbs and the other man were also transported with non-life-threatening injuries.

    According to the CCSO, on July 6, Dabbs was arrested and charged with the following:

    • Murder in the First Degree
    • Assault in the First Degree
    • Assault in the Second Degree
    • Assault in the First Degree
    • Assault in the Second Degree

    He was taken to Carroll County Central Booking.
